The children's section of the Germantown Library also has a replica fire truck that the kids can climb on and a fish tank, both of which were a hit with Callum. He spent about 15 minutes crawling around the top of the firetruck, while mommy contiually walked around it since the wall around the top is not very tall and is only present on 3 sides. While on top of the truck he also really enjoyed pulling up and then letting go with both hands, so he was standing unsupported. It was a lot of fun to see the joy and pride on his face while he stood there. Periodically he would point at the fish tank from the top of the fire truck and so that was our final stop before leaving the library. All is all is was a very fun and sucessful trip!

Library Time with Mommy
Today was a HOT day outside (Heat Index between 105 and 108 degrees) and so Callum and I headed indoors for a little recreational time. After much debate (between Brett and I over the phone), it was decided that we would go to the Germantown Public Library to read some books and check out the other fun things they have. I was a little concerned because while this was not our first trip to the library it was our first trip since Callum has become mobile and one of his favorite activities at home is to "reorganize" his library. (For those who have not seen this activity it consists of Callum pulling all the books off his bookshelf and then looking at Brett or I like "Who is going to clean this up?") I was pleasantly surprised when Callum only removed one book from the shelf at a time. He really seemed to enjoy looking through the books that he found and his slow pace allowed me to clean up after him as we went.
