Down the Drain

After a wonderful playdate this morning and a brief nap, Callum and I headed out to meet some of his very first friends at the Collierville Sprinkle Park. This is a fun group of Mommies and Babies that we met through the Baptist New Mom's support group, all of which have a baby that was born within about a month of Callum's birthday. It is fun to get together with them and see how everyone has grown and changed since the last time we got together and today was no different. When we arrived I had to wake the sleeping baby and then get him dressed for the fun. Callum was initially a little freaked out by the water squirting randomly and unpredicatbly throughout the park and clung to mommy, who didn't realize that she too would be getting wet and did not dress appropriately.
However, after a little while Callum found a "friend" (a nonfunctioning elephant that should shoot water from its' trunk which Callum hugged and "talked" to for about 10 minutes) and then a place that he could really enjoy. One would think that my little fish, who wants nothing more then to play in the faucet during bath time, would enjoy playing in the fountains throughout the park BUT that was not the case. Callum's location of choice, sitting by the drain where all the water ran. He sat and splashed himself and others and was happy as a clam. He also laid on his belly and tried to blow bubbles in the water like he does in the tub, go figure. Overall though I think he had a great time and we will definitely go back and visit again soon!
(Thanks Miho for the wonderful pics!)
