the Word

Just wanted to share with you all a cute story from church this morning. Callum was getting restless sitting in the pew with us in the vestible (our church doesn't have a cry room, but rather you can sit in the vestibule and still participate in worship without disrupting other worshippers) and he was starting to fidget and fuss. To help alleviate Callum's restlessness Brett allowed Callum to walk around the vestibule while holding his hand. The two of them disappeared from view towards the library we have at our church and when they returned Callum was carrying a small New Testament bible track (actually the Neuvo Testamento, but as Brett pointed out Callum is not so good at the reading so it didn't really matter that it was in Spanish) that he found on top of the book return box outside of the library. You would have thought that he had found the greatest treasure in the world. He sat in the pew opening it and flipping through the pages and then later on he started to get tired and laid his head down on top of it. He love his bible. It made both Brett and I proud parents to see our son fascinated by the Word, even the tender age of ~18 months. Callum carried the bible out of church and would not even let it go when we got home. We are going to bring it back with us next Sunday and see if he finds it equally exciting.
