Callum's new favorite activity is to clean up and put things away. This love is not only reserved for our house as he loves to put things away at Little Gym and Kindermusik as well. At home though this has created a few problems; however, they are nothing major and if it means him helping around the house we can work around them. He is getting more and more observant everyday and it amazes me the things that he picks up. The other day after watching me clean the kitchen and throw away numerous items of trash I found him trying to throw something in the trash himself. I opened up the trash can and found that this item, which was not trash, was not the first item he had helped clean up BUT the fourth. In the trash can I found a plastic mixing spoon, a refridgerator magnet, and a PS2 controller. While adorable we are a little concerned he might throw something important away and we might not realize it, so we purchased a new trash can yesterday that locks. Callum spent a good 5 minutes trying to open it and looking at me like "Mom this thing is broken." He also really likes to sweep the floor. First he got a hold of the broom; however, this was not exciting enough for him so he opted to use the Bissel sweeper I was was using instead. When asked to switch he refused and continued to work on "cleaning up" the kitchen and living room. He is going to make a wonderful husband one day.
