Mississippi Here We Come

Last week we decided that we needed to have a family day and decided that today would be the day. So...at Callum's morning nap time we headed out to Tunica, MS to take in the sights (no we did not take Callum gambling in case you were wondering). Callum slept through the entire drive and woke up as soon as we reached our first stop: the outlet mall. We spent about an hour shopping as a family and I am happy to report that Callum is ready for the long hot summer and fall that await us in Memphis. After the outlet mall we drove down to downtown Tunica, which was a step back in time. When we arrived we found a quaint strip of old fashioned stores and houses. It was amazing to find this bit of history so close to gleaming, modern strip of casinos that Tunica is known for. Following our brief visit to main street we headed to the Tunica River Park. The park consists of a variety of attractions; however, we took advantage of the nature walk, which is a walk way that meanders along the bank of the Mississippi River. While it was hot we did have a very nice time.

"Do you guys know where we are going?"

"Did you all see the signs about the poisionous snakes? Why am I hanging out by myself?"

Following our trip to MS we capped off the evening by attending a concert at Levitt Shell with our friend Megan, Ken, and Sam. It was a nice evening and we have a great time. Overall it was a wonderful family day!
