Small Fry Triathlon 2012

Callum's much talked about and anticipated race day finally came today.  He was VERY excited about the event this year and didn't even fight us about putting on his number (something he fought us on big time last year, but maybe seeing Mommy and Daddy wear them during our races showed him it is okay or maybe he has just matured).

On his way to the race (and yes Brett spiffed up his helmet to look like Lighting McQueen and yes his helmet is on backwards but we fixed it before the race)

Watching the fire fighters set up the "swim" portion of the race

The cutest spectator in the crowd.  (Next year she will be old enough to participate so maybe we will have them both race next year)

Though they kept repeating that this was a non-competitive race, Callum definitely brought his game face (or has gone into "pre-game mode" per his Daddy)

Waiting for the whistle at the starting line...Ready, Set, Go

Bike,

Run,

Swim??
(He was a little uncertain of the sprinkler at first; however, by the end he was splashing in the water (and mud) with the rest of them)

All Done.

For those who want to actually see the whole race here is the video Brett took.  It is about 5 minutes long but cute.

After the race Callum and Finley played in the water and Finley made a lot of new friends (we took her on the other side of the fence because the water wasn't as deep and there were fewer kiddos to run her over)

Warming up to the splashing and playing in the mus.  To say he was wet and filthy when he was done would be an understatement, especially when you consider the mud in his hair.

After the race we enjoyed some post race snacks and while Finley didn't actually drink the juice she was VERY proud of herself when she got a hold of the empty box.

When we left Callum really wanted to push Finley and I saw no reason not to let him.  I love this picture because of how Finley has her feet pulled up.  Not sure what to make of it but I think it is cute.
