Munchkin Madness (aka soccer for 3 y/o)

Today was Callum's first day of soccer and we were all very excited!  Brett even had a day off this week and took it today so he could attend.  Soccer technically started last week but we weren't able to make it so this was his first time.  He loved getting to wear his "special" shoes (soccer cleats we found at a thrift store in Sonoma, CA for $2 or $3) and his shin guards and I think he had a great time!  (This soccer program is designed for little kids in that there are no specific teams and everyone brings their own balls.  They so scrimmage at the end of practice; however, whenever a goal is scored or a ball goes out of bounds the parents throw in a new one.  Definitely more recreational than competitive but it is exactly what we were looking for for Callum).

Warming up before practice

Listening to the coach before practice

Practicing dribbling the ball and scoring a goal

Racing his friend from school, William, to the goal

Getting ready to play the game. C was on the red team

The beginning of the game was much of what you would expect from 3 y/o, mass chaos.

Wrapping up practice and about to give everyone high fives and good games.
All in all I think everyone had fun and we will definitely be back next week.
