New Tricks

Callum has several new tricks up his sleeves these days and I thought that I would share a few of my favorites:

1. Callum LOVES to help load/unload the dishwasher. He is especially good at helping with the silverware, which he will remove one or two piecces at a time and either hand them to Brett or I to put away of place them in the front on the drawer. Yesterday I watched Brett and Callum as they completed the task and it was adorable, especially since each time Callum gave Brett the silverware Callum said "Thank You" or "Here you go." It was precious to watch. Callum will also load the dirty silverware in the dishwasher if you hand it to him; however, you have to watch him a little more closely with this task since he occasionally gets distracted and tries to put the dirty silverware in the silverware drawer. Good thing he cannot reach the silverware sorter so it is obvious which one was the dirty addition to the drawer.

2. Callum is "singing" a variety of songs. We have heard him this weekend singing both the Wheels on the Bus and the ABC song (they are not perfect by any means but from the melody you can definitely pick out the song).

3. Callum is combining more words with his current favorite phrase is "Open Door," which he uses to get the door up and closed. Also if we don't open the door quick enough he tries to open the knob himself and has even managed it a few times (it might be time to get some childproof knob covers).
