Oxford, MS

This past weekend Brett and I were blessed with the opportunity to take a weekend away without the children thanks to our sweet friends and we jumped on it.  We got some advice before we went (and while we were there) and while we didn't get to do everything, we had a great time.  In addition to being the home of the University of Mississippi it is also the birth place/ was the hometown of William Faulkner.  While in Oxford we explored the square (which has a lot of really cute shops and bookstores), ate some delicious food at City Grocery (where we sat 5 feet from Morgan Freeman and Brett was starstruck), and visited Rowan Oak (William Faulkner's home, it wasn't open for tours when we were there but we had fun looking in the windows and around the grounds.  We also took pictures with the statue of William Faulkner in square (a necessary part of the Oxford experience).  The bench was HOT, secondary to it being over 100 degrees outside so we had to take our pictures QUICK!
