Today was got out the Christmas decorations and started the decking the halls (we decided that we needed to get it done as we will likely be pretty busy in the next few weeks). We had debated putting up outside lights; however, after we got the Christmas lights box down we decided we had enough to give it a go. I should add that these lights were actually used to decorate the reception hall for our wedding ten years ago, so all but two of the strands (which have been on our tree each year) having been waiting to be called up to the big leagues. We had the perfect number of lights and it was almost as if we knew when we bought the house that we would be able to decorate without buying any new lights.
Stretching out the strands of lights before putting them on the trees,
Checking out their hard work
Callum was most troubled that we didn't have the ornaments down yet so he took it upon himself to decorate the trees with his barrel of monkeys.
The Little People Nativity (or the God toy/stable as Callum calls it) has been a BIG hit!
Finley tried to be helpful is unloading ornaments.
Here is the finished product (notice the lone monkey that Callum insisted remain on the tree)
